Why be A Member?
CCFC members are CCFC owners! This is your store. CCFC members have a vote in elections, a voice when exploring new products for the store and are encouraged to participate in making the cooperative a wonderful place to be shop and gather.
A significant difference between a cooperative and your average grocery store is the ownership structure. Large groceries are owned by corporations that are located outside the valley, and distribute profits amongst managers and shareholders.
The CCFC is owned by its members. Profits are reinvested into the store to expand and improve the selections. Eventually, the co-op hopes to create a dividend program that returns profits to its member owners.
Additionally, every weekend, members receive 5% off their purchases. Members also receive substantial savings on bulk purchases. Members are allowed a $20 credit line with the co-op and receive e-updates. Working Members volunteer in the store and receive further discounts. Members have a vote in major decisions and an opportunity to elect and/or serve on the Board of Directors.
The cooperative encourages member participation, including electing and running for the Board of Directors. The CCFC is here today because members believe in it's mission and design.
