Carbondale Community Food Co-opMission Statement

The Carbondale Community Food Co-op is to be a positive change in our community and the world by supporting local, organic, sustainable food and products, while providing a thriving place to shop, eat and gather.

Carbondale Community Food Coop ~ Past, Present and Future

Carbondale Community Food Co-opThe original vision for CCFC was to build member equity in order to rent or purchase a store front that specialized in sustainable foods and products. In order to grow, we organized a buyers club and worked to satisfiy the need to have healthy, affordable organic food in Carbondale.

After two years of a successful buyers club the co-op had raised enough equity through both the buyers club and member share sales to open a store. We opened our store on February 1, 2008. Today we work cooperativly to create a viable distribution network that serves the needs of our members and community.

FAQ

Q: What if I move, can I get my Member Share back?

A: Yes, standard co-op practice is that a share is refundable, however initial Member Shares are refundable only after the first two years of the stores opening (not from when you buy), this is to ensure the co-op has ample time to create its own equity and the business has a stronger chance of success.

You may request a refund at any time and if we have the ability to pay it we will, otherwise we will refund your money on the two year mark.
